Operation Summary

Canthoplasty Procedure

• Step 1: When you contact us, if you are not in Istanbul, pictures of your eye area will be requested via WhatsApp. Dr. Ali Mezdeği will review them, and if you are suitable for the surgery, an appointment will be scheduled.
• Step 2: Upon your arrival in Istanbul, your hotel and transfer arrangements will be made in advance. You will follow the guidance of our assistant and be brought to the hospital on the day of the surgery, where Dr. Ali Mezdeği will conduct an examination.
• Step 3: The procedure will be explained, and an agreement will be reached with the patient. You will be given general anesthesia and taken to the operating room, where you will be put to sleep.
• Step 4: The point where your upper and lower eyelids meet will be repositioned slightly higher through the inside of the eyelid, creating a sharper look. Since the procedure is done from inside the eyelid, there will be no visible surgical scars.
• Step 5: You will be discharged on the same day or the next day. On average, you will be called back to our clinic for a check-up 3-4 days later. Dressings will be applied, and any stitches, if present, will be removed. Some pain relief medication will be prescribed, which you will be asked to use.
• Step 6: Swelling and bruising, if any, will mostly subside within 1-2 weeks. It will take about a month for the surgery to reach its final result. If you do not have any health issues, you can undergo this procedure comfortably.

Important Note: In some cases, there can be excessive skin on the upper eyelid. In such situations, it is necessary to combine the procedure with upper eyelid surgery. To achieve complete harmony around the eyes, the lower eyelid may also be treated if needed. A full eye area aesthetic should include the reduction of under-eye bags to ensure a balanced and refined look.

• 2-4 weeks : Swelling and bruising may occur for 2-4 weeks after almond eye surgery. Don’t worry; these will gradually fade away by the end of this period.
