Lower Blepharoplasty Procedure
- Step 1: After initial contact online, you will be asked to send clear photos of your eye area. Dr. Ali Mezdeği will review the images to determine your suitability for the surgery. If you are a suitable candidate, an appointment will be scheduled.
- Step 2: When you arrive in Istanbul, our vehicles will pick you up and take you to your hotel. On the day of the surgery, you will be brought to the hospital. After a detailed examination, the surgical markings will be made. The surgery will begin after anesthesia is administered.
- Step 3: A small incision is made just below your lower eyelashes. The fat pads under the eyes are redistributed to create a smooth, even appearance. You will either stay at the hospital for one night or return to your hotel the same day.
- Step 4: Three days after the surgery, your bandages will be removed. If there are any dressings or stitches that need to be taken out, they will be removed. Your under-eye area will be shown in its final form. Bruising and swelling may occur for the first 15 days, but don’t worry—it’s temporary. The final results of the surgery will be visible after one month. You can return to your country on the 4th or 5th day.
During this period, you are free to explore Istanbul. As long as you protect the surgical area, there should be no issues.
Note: We do not remove the fat pads under the eyes. Our technique involves redistributing the fat, which creates smoothness. Removing the fat can lead to hollowness under the eyes, which is why we avoid it.
Lower blepharoplasty recovery day by day
- Day 1: There may be slight swelling and bruising. You might also feel tightness in your lower eyelids. This is normal, so just continue to rest.
- Day 3: While the swelling and bruising may have reduced, they can still be present—don’t worry. Your doctor might recommend a cream or eye drops. Try to avoid using devices with bright screens, such as phones, computers, and TVs.
- Day 7: You can return to work. Avoid direct sunlight and wind exposure. You may consider wearing sunglasses. Do not consume alcohol or smoke during the first week, as it can slow down the healing process.
- Day 14: The swelling and bruising should no longer be visible. After two weeks, you can start wearing makeup to cover any remaining bruising or swelling.
- 4-6 Weeks: Any traces of the surgery should be gone, and it will be hard to tell that you had the procedure. You can comfortably shower and dry your face with a towel. By now, you should have fully returned to your pre-surgery routine. That’s the goal.
